The site’s scars become an overwhelming reality, as do their role in
the process of natural succession. Drainage
swales assist in nourishing
hedgerows and island vegetation
along the approach. Despite natural succession, a memory trace, or
scar of these swales will remain. They convey the lasting memory of
40 people who chose to make a difference.
